Anne Hathaway Has More Talents Than We Know, Says Jonathan Demme

Many of this year’s celebrity “Dancing with the Stars” contestants have youth on their side, but the Go Go’s Belinda Carlisle tells us she

has her own secret weapons. “I chant every day and I do a ton of yoga.

Besides keeping you flexible, it really does change you emotionally and keep you calm,” says Carlisle, who is a dedicated Buddhist. “I’ve been practicing heavily for four years and I just know from experience it makes a big difference in everything. I think if I didn’t have that I’d be a lot more crazed.”

Carlisle, who certainly had her wilder days with the Go Go’s, says she’s also being assiduous when it comes to taking care of herself. Read the full article »

Anne Hathaway Gives Herself A Break

So her Oscar chances were crushed by the juggernaut of Kate Winslet and the “Extras” rule that Holocaust movies always win. So what? Anne Hathaway gave herself some time off anyway and was spotted relaxing in Liberia, Costa Rica. Hathaway went on a boat ride and, later on, posed for pictures with some fans who happened to be lucky enough to be vacationing there at the same time. Read the full article »

Anne Hathaway: ‘I Don’t Want to be Like Angelina Jolie’

Anne Hathaway has denied she models herself on Angelina Jolie.

The Devil Wears Prada actress – who recently revealed fake tan left her “looking like an orange zebra” – says although she admires the Tomb Raider star, she only tries to copy Jolie’s attitude to fame.

She explains, “I love Angelina, I think she is beautiful – but it is not my aim to be just like her. I admire what she does greatly. She uses her fame in a good way – and that is what I hope to do too: to make a difference. Read the full article »

Hathaway Does Broadway

Anne Hathaway became a headliner of course when she dated that dirt bag financier ex of hers who is now in prison, but more notably, with her nomination for Rachel Getting Married and the chick flick which went into theaters and out pretty quickly, Bride Wars, Hathaway’s heat is rising.

Next up for the Oscar nominee, Hathaway is channeling Shakespeare! Read the full article »

Anne Hathaway to take up man’s role in Shakespeare’s play

Anne Hathaway is turning into a man! Don’t jump off your seats, for the actress is just doing an open-air production of Shakespeare’s play Twelth Night, in which she cross-dresses as a male.

The actress has taken up the role of Viola, who spends most of the play disguised as a man.

The actress will make her debut on June 9 in the month-long production at Central Park’s Delacorte Theater in New York, reports Contactmusic.

The actress has earlier performed on the New York stage in 2002, when she starred in a concert production of the musical Carnival.

And surprisingly, William Shakespeare’s own wife was also named Anne Hathaway.

Anne Hathaway sizzles in Demme’s dreary ‘Rachel Getting Married’

Ever been to one of those weddings that just will not end?

“Rachel Getting Married” is the cinematic equivalent, a movie with a powerful performance from Anne Hathaway but a story undone by the self-indulgence of director Jonathan Demme, who loiters interminably on some scenes.

Demme’s detours into documentaries (“Neil Young: Heart of Gold,” “Jimmy Carter: Man From Plains”) actually serve him well as he crafts a loose, docudrama style that infuses great authenticity into this anguished reunion tale of family and friends.

But Demme did the reflect-real-life thing almost too well. Many moments are genuine to the point where you feel trapped in a room with someone else’s relations in a marathon session of picking and clawing at old wounds. Read the full article »

Anne Hathaway To Break New, Cross-Dressing Ground Onstage

Happily, Bride Wars wasn’t the ’09 setback we feared for Anne Hathaway, but rather a minor detour on her way to the coveted, gender-bending Shakespearean promised land.

New York’s Public Theatre announced today that Hathaway would appear in this summer’s Shakespeare in the Park production of Twelfth Night — its sixth mounting of the comedy, but no doubt the first featuring the Oscar-nominated ex of a faux-Vatican CFO. As a man. Sort of: Hathaway will play the female lead Viola, shipwrecked with her identical twin Sebastian in the mythical dukedom of Illyria. Mistaken identity, servitude and cross-dressing ensue, and Viola falls in love with the Duke. Whose role hasn’t yet been cast, we hear, though let’s be honest: If ever there were a time for Hathaway and Frank Langella to settle their filthy unfinished business, this would be it.

Anne Hathaway Weight Loss Plan: David Kirsh’s Thermo Bubbles

With the awards season in full swing now, female stars are under a lot of pressure to look as good as possible on the red carpet. Anne Hathaway is also one of them and, as recently revealed, she has turned to David Kirsh’s Thermo Bubbles to shed the extra pounds in the most natural way available.

Thermo Bubbles ($40 for 10 servings) is a herbal drink that is said to “melt away the fat naturally,” while also boosting energy levels and the metabolism. Made with extracts from various plants, the Thermo Bubbles comes as a powder that is then mixed with water to make for a delicious, healthy and almost calorie-free (only 10 calories per serving) drink that helps women in their constant battle against the pounds. Anne Hathaway Cast in Stephen Chow’s Superhero Comedy?

China.org.cn is reporting that Anne Hathaway is likely to star in Stephen Chow’s next movie. When Chow bowed out of directing The Green Hornet, he said that he would like to free some time up to work with Jack Black on a different superhero comedy? Well this is it.

Wei Dasen, a representative of Chow’s production company describes the film as “a superhero, action-packed, special effects-rich, and of course funny” . Sources close to Chow supposedly are saying that the film will be similar in style to the over-the-top parody of “Kung Fu Hustle”. Chow is writing the screenplay and will also co-star. No further details are available at this time.

Exclusive: ‘Gossip Girl’ spots Anne Hathaway-inspired plot

Forget that ho-hum Oscar nomination. Now Anne Hathaway has something even cooler to brag about: her very own Gossip Girl plot!

Sources confirm to me exclusively that the show is planning a season-ending story line loosely inspired by the actress’ infamous (and fizzled) romance with Italian grifter Raffaello Follieri, who was convicted last October on 14 counts of wire fraud, money laundering, and conspiracy. In the world of Gossip Girl, Blake Lively’s Serena will play the unsuspecting ingenue who falls for a handsome European socialite — in this case a hunk named Gabriel (casting is under way).
