Kate Hudson vows to take the woman next to her in sickness and health, in good box office and bad and during positive press and tabloid twitter.

Hudson, seated by her “Bride Wars” co-star Anne Hathaway, mentions that girl power is No. 1 in her little pink book. In fact, it was her own mother, Goldie Hawn, who first taught her about female solidarity.

“A few years ago my brother was getting married and we had a bridal shower for my sister-in-law,” Hudson says. “My mom made a speech that I’ll never forget. She said, ‘I want all of you girls to look around the room. Even if you don’t know the woman next to you or if it’s your sister, I want you to remember one thing: Men, they come and go. They will hopefully stay, but you never know. But that girl sitting next to you will get you through everything.’ Read the full article »

Anne Hathaway swears she she’s not one of those gals who obsesses about her dream wedding. But she does admit to thinking about at least one detail of the big day.

“I haven’t thought about the food; I haven’t thought about the look; I haven’t thought about my dress. I haven’t really thought about the guy,” Hathaway says in the new issue of Modern Bride magazine. “But every once in a while, I’ll listen to a song, and I’m like, ‘I want that at my wedding.’ ”

What’s on her playlist?

“Maps” by Yeah Yeah Yeahs and “Walken” by Wilco are a couple of her faves. And she has high hopes for “You Are the Best Thing” by Ray LaMontagne. “That’s going to be, like the number one wedding song for the next 25 years,” predicts Hathaway, who stars in next month’s Bride Wars opposite Kate Hudson. “Trust me.” Read the full article »

Liv (Hudson) and Emma (Hathaway), best friends since childhood, are always there for each other, through good times and bad. They even become engaged to be married within a few hours of one another. Together they plan their respective weddings, each to take place at New York’s ultimate bridal destination and their lifelong dream location, the Plaza Hotel. Good thing Anne Hathaway cut her teeth thwarting bad guys in the upcoming Get Smart—she needs all the help she can get evading paparazzi on the set of her new flick with Kate Hudson.

Bride Wars, the girlie nuptial-fest she and Lance Armstrong’s main squeeze are shooting in NYC, has been a mess of photogs, all angling for a shot at Kate’s ring finger. Hathaway manages to catch some of the lenses in cross fire, she told E! News at a Los Angeles press conference for Get Smart, and she’s just not used to it.

“There were, I kid you not, 50 paparazzi on the street,” she said. “We had to call off the shot and find a different location, because they were in the way.”

But it doesn’t end there…

The ladies hiked up their trains and carried on, making the film Hathaway describes as “estrogen land” compared to the all-boy Smart set. She did manage to bring her own feminine touch as Agent 99, however, alongside Steve Carell, Alan Arkin and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

Running in five-inch stilettos, for instance.

“I had excellent training on The Devil Wears Prada in running around in them,” she said. “So when it came time to add some high kicks and jumps, it wasn’t that bad.”

Perhaps she can apply those moves next time paps penetrate her set?
