First time ever commenting on a celebrity subject BUT I had to…was drawn in to Anne’s acceptance speeches tempest-in-a-teapot. Expected to see the birth of a buffoon…BUT I saw a lovely young lady charmingly doing her best, as herself, and doing just fine. I thought her handling of the “name misspelling thing” was funny, the “blunt object” remark about her Globes statue at worst original as well as sweetly vulnerable and the thanks to her husband wise and loving. I had to say something because it seems so sick and even scary for anyone to be bashed so mercilessly in public over simply accepting an award. Most of all, Anne’s acceptance speech critics are disgusting in their lack of RESPECT for someone who is so acclaimed and who, with her talent, dedication and experience, has earned the right to receive understanding, civility and grace from her observers. These vulgar critics who will tear down anybody for the right price are the ones who badly need a dose of their own medicine.
