Anne Hathaway lends her classic beauty to the March issue of InStyle magazine, as she adorns the cover in a gorgeous purple gown (one that looks eerily similar to Sandra Bullock’s Bottega Veneta Golden Globes stunner) and her radiant, porcelain glow. The actress, who can be seen this Friday in “Valentine’s Day,” discusses her latest role as the White Queen in Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland,” as well as her self-image (she’s incredibly modest) and how she finds balance and happiness.
There is no question that Anne is absolutely gorgeous, but this humble actress doesn’t necessarily think so. “I think I’ve got really weird features. I have very large features on a very small head. But, you know, I’m not going to beat myself up… I look like myself, and I think at the end of the day, as nice as pretty is, authenticity is more important,” she says. Read the full article »

Anne Hathaway is picture-perfect on the cover of InStyle magazine’s March 2010 issue.
Here’s what the 27-year-old Alice in Wonderland actress had to share with the mag:
On her appearance: “I think I’ve got really weird features. I have very large features on a very small head. But, you know, I’m not going to beat myself up… I look like myself, and I think at the end of the day, as nice as pretty is, authenticity is more important.”
On playing the White Queen: “When I found out Tim Burton was on, I basically went into the studio and said, ‘I’m here, I want to play the White Queen. I’m just letting you know I will do anything to be in this movie.’”
On planning: “I don’t time anything. I never plan an image I want to project. It’s always very much where I am right now.”
Anne Hathaway, who was among the stars hitting the red carpet in Hollywood last night for the premiere of Valentine’s Day, says in the new British GQ that her family left the Catholic Church over its intolerant views on homosexuality.
Anne grew up wanting to become a nun but shunned Catholicism when she learned her older brother, Michael, was gay.
“The whole family converted to Episcopalianism after my elder brother came out,” she tells the magazine. “Why should I support an organization that has a limited view of my beloved brother?”
But the Episcopal church plan didn’t really work out for her either. “So I’m … nothing,” she said. “I’m a work in progress.”
