Actress Anne Hathaway will star in “The Opposite of Love,” portraying a commitment-phobic attorney who finds her well-constructed life coming apart when she rejects her ready-for-marriage boyfriend.
The 20th Century Fox project is based on the best-seller by Julie Buxbaum, with writer (and actress) Kara Holden adapting the screenplay.
Hathaway’s performance as a recovering addict in Jonathan Demme’s “Rachel Getting Married,” which opens October 3, has generated awards speculation. Among her previous big-screen credits are “Brokeback Mountain,” “The Devil Wears Prada” and “Get Smart.”

As a huge fan of the classic Sixties show “Get Smart,” the best compliment I can give to this summer’s big-screen remake is that it missed being good by that much. You could see the Rock twist coming a mile away, Steve Carell was a bit too smooth with his portrayal of bumbling spy Maxwell Smart, and don’t get me started on the dumb idea of making the Cone of Silence CGI – but still, it wasn’t “Honeymooners” or “Bewitched” bad.
Since it made some money at the box-office, and even loyalists like myself might be willing to give the series one more chance, talk has turned to pre-release quotes from the cast that they’d be willing to do a sequel. And Anne Hathaway (possibly the best part about the flick) re-affirmed her commitment to us this week, saying she’d love to take another crack at sexy/smart Agent 99. Read the full article »
Anne Hathaway has moved in with her parents.
The Get Smart actress is sleeping on the sofa in her mother and father’s New York home while she looks for somewhere to live after splitting from her boyfriend Raffaello Follieri.
A source said: “She is OK, but is staying at her parents’ New York apartment right now.”
The 25-year-old actress previously said she enjoys “a fabulous relationship” with her mum and dad. Read the full article »
HTML clipboardHere is the trailer of Anne in Bride Wars.
Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson go head-to-head in the hilarious new comedy BRIDE WARS. Liv (Hudson) and Emma (Hathaway), best friends since childhood, are always there for each other, through good times and bad. They even become engaged to be married within a few hours of one another. Together they plan their respective weddings, each to take place at New York’s ultimate bridal destination and their lifelong dream location, the Plaza Hotel. But a clerical error and subsequent clash in wedding dates pits the two brides – neither of whom will step aside – against each other, in a competition that quickly escalates into all-out war

Anne Hathaway sits in the corner of a Toronto restaurant, poring over a New York Times crossword puzzle. ”Feel free to contribute!” she says, sliding over to make room for her interviewer. Tonight, Hathaway’s new movie, Rachel Getting Married, will have its splashy North American premiere at the Toronto Film Festival, and the actress will don a fancy frock to do the red-carpet walk-and-wave. But at the moment, she’s enjoying sitting here in jeans and a plaid shirt, sharpening her puzzle-solving skills and chatting about the wild times she had last night. ”I ordered a simple meal, downloaded some episodes of The Tudors, and went to bed nice and early,” she says. Her smile, warm and ear-to-ear, is the same one that made her the idol of the elementary school set when it first flashed across the screen in The Princess Diaries seven years ago. ”You know those girls that, like, go out?” she says, sipping a soy latte. ”I’m just not confident enough to do that. I’m not the sort of girl that will throw on a short skirt and tease her hair up. I feel uncomfortable with attention. Truly, I am a wallflower by nature.” Hathaway’s preference for a low-key life has made her the rare young star not regularly pummeled by the Perez Hiltons of the world — until recently. ”Obviously,” she says, ”this summer was a little different.” Read the full article »
