Somebody alert the tabloids: Anne Hathaway is hearing wedding bells!

Well, on the big screen, at least. The 25-year-old actress recently spoke with us about her next two projects, both centered around the holiest of institutions.

“I have a movie I made with Jonathan Demme coming out that I’m so proud of,” Hathaway gushed, talking about her recent work with the “Silence of the Lambs” director. In that flick, the “Devil Wears Prada” alum gets to play an ex-model herself, who leaves rehab to attend her sister’s wedding.

“We’re in-between titles right now – it was called ‘Dancing with Shiva’,” she revealed. “My character is a very interesting young girl, and I think there’s something for everyone in that one.”

After that flick hits theaters later this year, Hathaway will prove she isn’t always the bridesmaid, as audiences will see her in a white dress in 2009. Read the full article »

Anne Hathaway’s boyfriend Raffaello Follieri was arrested in New York yesterday (03.03.08).

The Italian property developer – who has been dating ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ actress for four years – tried to pay a $250,000 bill with a bad check, and was taken into police custody to sort the matter out.

Follieri has been charged with one misdemeanour count of issuing a bad check, and his lawyers are reportedly now handling the “issue”, NYPD spokesman Detective Martin Speechley has confirmed.

Maxwell Smart is the world’s greatest superspy. He has a flame-throwing pocket knife, a hand-size spear gun and a phone in the heel of his shoe. He’s a calm, charismatic, bafflingly bumbling fool who always gets his man.

One thing he isn’t, however, is Austin Powers.

“If you can believe it, Maxwell Smart has double the mojo,” laughed Anne Hathaway, joining a few of her “Get Smart” filmmakers to open up the classified file on this summer’s highly anticipated comedy. “I think Austin Powers is more of a complete spoof of [the spy genre]. We’re not really spoofing it; we’re just being a little silly with it. We’re trying to make it funny, but none of our characters know that they’re in a comedy. Anne Hathaway is a trooper. Despite a death in the family this weekend, she still showed up at a gay-rights gala on Saturday night.

The 25-year-old starlet was given the Human Rights Campaign’s Ally for Equality Award during its annual Los Angeles fete at the Hyatt Century Plaza hotel.

Hathaway (above, with CAA agent Bryan Lourd) said supporting the gay community hits close to home. It was “no big deal,” she said, when her older brother, Mike, told the family he was gay.

“We hugged him, said we loved him and that was that,” Hathaway said.

But when Mike came home for Christmas with his first boyfriend—“now husband,” Hathaway cooed—their dad was a little worried…about the laundry!

“My father’s only comment to my mother was, ‘Please try not to mix up our underwear,’” Hathaway said to laughs and applause.

Anne Hathaway turned down the lead role in romantic comedy ‘Knocked Up’ because she deemed the movie “too radical”, according to the film’s star Katherine Heigl.

The ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ beauty landed the role of Alison Scott opposite Seth Rogen after Hathaway, who was the original choice of director Judd Apatow, refused to take the part.

But Heigl was only too happy to be cast – and was even delighted when audiences were shocked by graphic footage of a baby’s head crowning during the movie’s birthing scene.

The 30-year-old says: “I think Anne found the film a little too radical especially with the shot at the end!

“Seeing a baby’s head poking through was a little strong but the reaction of the audience at that point was so extreme. They just screamed – especially the men!”
